Find these or similar supplies

• Toilet paper tubes
• Paper towel tubes
• Old popsicle sticks or tongue depressors
• Glue gun or tape
• Styrofoam packing

This project is very fun and easy. You can make your marble slide however you’d like, there is no wrong or right way. Just start building and see what you end up with! Start out by cutting most of your toilet paper tubes in half (lengthwise). You can make this project as big or small as you want, so try to judge how many T.P. tubes you’ll need before hand.

Start out by deciding on how many masts your soda bottle ship will have. I ended up liking the way it looked with 3 masts. I then laid a piece of tape down to mark the mast locations. This will be removed later.

This is definitely an adult step. I made little holes by spinning the tip of my x-acto blade into the soda bottle, basically drilling the holes out. Try not to make them any bigger than your masts.

Start out by trying different supplies to get the look you like. I ended up using An old oatmeal container for the steam engine part and a small box that fit perfect for the drivers compartment. Then I found a small paper cup for my smoke stack. This is a good time to make any changes or alterations. However it looks pretty cool just like this. So you could tape it together and VOILA` your done.

I played around with using 4 sets of wheels and ended up liking the way it looked with 3 wheels per side. It’s your train so see what you like. After deciding on the size I traced around a plastic lid on some old cardboard and cut all 6 wheels out.
