Cute Little Cork Stamps

I was inspired by this amazing Japanese craft book (link).

I made my stamps out of cork, because I have LOTS of them. It is a bit more rustic than using erasers, but it’s also recycling!

Draw your design on one end of your cork using a Sharpie. I used a silver Sharpie for the dark stained corks.

Draw design on stamp

Using the tip of your craft knife, stab around your design. Insert the craft knife 1/8″ -1/4″ deep.

Cut using tip of craft knife

Carefully cut around edges, being careful NOT to cut off your design. If you mess up, just slice it off and start over!

Cut into sides

Pull off excess cork from around your designs.

My first stamp! Roll the stamp around a little to get full coverage.

Stamping crazy!

Stamping gone wild!

You can have a whole set in a matter of minutes!

The set of stamps!

Try carving on the side of the cork for larger stamps and use a pencil eraser for small round shapes.  BTW - I’ve found that synthetic cork works pretty well too.
