Ball Buddy

Category: Toys | 13 June 2008, 21:52 | admin

Materials needed:

  • Old balls or rubber balls
  • Wiggly eyes ( I used glow-in-the-dark)
  • Yarn
  • Paper and fabric scraps
  • Miscellaneous craft supplies
  • Straight Pins
  • Tacky Glue

Let children turn balls into pets!

This activity is like making a “Mr. Potato-Head.”
Each child will need a ball. You can use discarded tennis balls or purchase cheap rubber balls. Provide a variety of materials to use for “personalizing” the balls, such as wiggly eyes, yarn for hair, pom poms for the nose, paper and fabric scraps, and anything else you think would be useful. Encourage the kids to name their pet balls and make up a story to go with them.Tips:
I used straight pins to secure the nose and hair to the tennis ball.
